Due to the busy time in the following weeks I’ve had to switch up my training schedule. So for today I decided to mix my run with my upper body work out. Although I lightened up on the running today, reason being I pulled on muscle at some point this week and it resulted in this huge bruise and I got a big blister after Sunday’s 14K. Today’s run was just 20mins on the treadmill to get my heart rate going. Better than nothing, right?!
As I mentioned, 20 minute jog on the treadmill
Weights: Upper Body
Bicep Curls (2reps of 12 25lbs, 1rep of 12 30lbs)
Side and Forward Raise w/ Dumbbells (2reps of 15 10lbs *times 2 sideways and forward)
Horizontal Row w/ Dumbbells (2reps of 15 10lbs)
Shoulder Press (2reps of 15 10lbs)
Reverse Fly (2reps of 15 10lbs)
Lat Pull Downs (2reps of 15 25lbs, 1rep of 7 30lbs)
Highlight: I gained 3 reps on my Upper Body routine.
Abs (reps of 60)
Crunches – straight up, left, right center, and elbow to knee (left and right)
Leg Lifts with Exercise Ball
Heels to the Heavens
Medicine Ball Twists
I got a good oblique work out from a couple of other things I did as well.
I ended my work out with some stretching!
A follow up on my packing situation… I’M PACKED!! Everything except my toothbrush and makeup. But I’m still considering my foam roller the most important :p. I’m really excited for this Sunday, I’ll be heading to Toronto to see my boyfriend and I jokingly asked him if he wanted to join me on my 15K run this Sunday… He’s such a good sport! He said, “ya, I’ll try to keep up. Just as long as I don’t die”. But he is actually an active guy so I’m sure he will lap me! But I will tell you guys how we fair on Sunday!
